[Namur pulls his communicator out of his pocket. It looks like a little snail with a couple of buttons on its shell. He pushes one, and the snail's eyes project a standard graphical interface in front of itself.]

Figured we all needed space to get all junk together and then regroup again when we were all here. Just made sense. I mean, we all gots lives to live in this new place, right?

Looks like a baby den den mushi, from my world. An' yeah, sure we got our own lives, but we live 'em t'gether Smolt. If Cake showed up here would y' make her get her own place 'til she figured herself out? Hell naw. She'd be roomin' with y' the moment she woke up, or at least right next t' y'. C'mon.

[Namur scrolls through the holographic interface and pokes at one or two of the pictures to see what they do. Neither one makes a private phone call, but one of them makes the little mechanical snail open its mouth and start playing elevator music in a tinny voice. Namur snorts.]

Shit I wish it was a real snail phone though. They ain't half this annoyin'.

[Fionna takes a moment to ooh and aah over the snail a moment].

All in the same buildin' at least. Like we was in Balamb. Gotta be able t' get t' each other quick in case shit happens, y' know?

[It is a cool little snail. He's already thinking up ways to personalize it. Maybe he'll get it a little dorsal fin to go on its shell and some sunglasses for when it's not in use. And definitely a new coat of paint. Those colors are lame.]

Ones back home're actually alive, so y' jus' tell 'em what y' want 'em t' do and they do it, so long as they got the right equipment attached. Gotta keep 'em fed an' watered, too. Sheheh!

We can manage that! I mean, it might be like that now, since we don't have a lot of money!

[He settles into the corner of the couch, passes his snail phone to Fionna and pulls her up on top of him because he takes up all of the seats.]

Yeah, definitely. PLUS, you can totes get to learn all about space and stuff! I'm totally going to get into that soon!

[She thought a moment]. Dunno. I know for sure that Grell's got one!

[Namur rolls his eyes. As nice as it was to get the opportunity to go to school, it's really, seriously not a thing he wants to keep doing if he doesn't have to.]

Well, guess there ain't nothin' for it but t' hit the town. Wanna show me 'round a li'l bit?

[Ohh, that is not the reaction he expected. Namur lifts up and sniffs, making sure it's just physical pain and not fear or revulsion, then carefully shifts himself off to the side, subdued.]
