EVENT: FRIENDS AT MISCUN
Who: Miscun natives, OPEN
Where: Kore, capital city of planet Miscun
When: June 22-26
Warnings: Probably jail.
When you step off the shuttle to Kore, representatives from the Temple are waiting to greet you. Or at least they're waiting to inspect you; their actual greetings are short and rather unfriendly, but they do seem quite interested in you. Every single citizen visiting Miscun's surface gets looked over carefully, and some of the more unusual-looking types get questions about where they're from. The atmosphere seems like it should be welcoming, but instead it feels more like you are being judged for something.
[ooc: threads for various locations are available below. At this point, players are free to use NPCs however they wish; mod-controlled NPCs may appear in the Temple threads.]

POOLS
One of the best things about Kore is the pool system. Public pools are everywhere, and they appear completely free to use (provided you have your own bathing suit, as public nudity is punishable by jailtime). Although they are mostly simple in design, the water is very deep and beautiful, and even tastes good to drink (if...you want to do that). Natives can be found in the pools at every time of day, but if you want a very late-night swim, you might be able to find an empty one. Some of the pools have clear sides and bottoms, and a few are even suspended over air.

She's out of her skull with boredom in a few hours and takes to swimming to try to stimmy it. So she hits the water with almost no splash, moving through it with sharp, efficient strokes. They at least can't forbid this simple joy of movement.

KER-SPLASH suckers!!!]
PRISON
Kore has police and surveillance everywhere, so if you've done something wrong, you've almost certainly been caught. The cells are clear but incredibly strong, and there is no real place to shield oneself from the eyes of the guards and other prisoners. Each cell contains a toilet and sink, a bench, and a lofted bed. One person per cell, please, and although visits are allowed, you must speak through the glass walls.
The guards are extremely uncommunicative, but fortunately, cells are close enough for prisoners to talk to each other - although any Miscun natives in the cells seem to want to be left alone.

He puts up a desperate fight, but tranquilizers always win, shitty little cheaters. The fight continues once he wakes up, only now he's reduced to smashing his bulk against the clear glass walls with as much force as he can manage in such tight quarters. Feel free to encourage/mock his efforts.]
MUSEUM
The Central Art Museum is a huge and elegant building located near the Temple. It appears to be a celebrated and popular spot, although very few natives actually seem to be smiling as they mill around in an orderly fashion.
Every art installation is geometrical in nature and most are dark or muted colors (if not simply greyscale). There are no images of people or animals - though some of them seem to be named as such, like the black canvas titled "Me In My Room As I Sleep" by Lisn Abbacas. There is one wing of slightly more interesting pictures, if you like nearly hypnotic line art.
TEMPLE
While the outside of the Temple makes it look like any other Miscun building, the inside betrays its unique and sacred nature. Corridors are either huge or miniscule, occasionally so small as to be difficult to fit into, and walls and ceilings are fashioned with sharp corners and nonsensical curves. Altars, pews and other objects seem to be placed randomly, as opposed to the almost obsessive orderliness of the rest of the city.
Visitors to the Temple never look happy to be there. They stay for a minute or two, often dropping special paper slips into the altars as tribute, and then depart quickly. The monks and priests, similarly, are dour as they go about their business. The monks are willing to speak - briefly - with visitors, but the higher-ups are terse and frankly rather rude.
The word
can be seen in every fire altar, burning perpetually.

He's trying to get a sense of these people. He's not a sociologist but he thinks he's developing some sense of planets and cultures, from having to adapt to being an Abh and his experience on Lobnas. So he heads for the most unusual appearing building, which stands in sharp contrast to the precision everywhere else. The disorder here is strange. Perhaps, he wonders, this is some kind of cautionary allegory.
He stops in front of one of the braziers, claps his hands together in an imitation of a religious gesture.
"Praise be to Arvel." He says, hoping he didn't accidentally just commit heresy.

"Fuck off, I'm watching my shows."
And then it's back to normal.
Re: TEMPLE
This is why Odo went to see if justice is reigning here, his style, or just order, Dominion style. And besides, the natives aren't the only ones waaaaaaaaaatching.
