0003: NEW ARRIVALS

Who: New Arrivals, Captain Jack Hollis, Science Captain Urist McEngineer, Graham Baker
Where: Briefing Room
When: Late afternoon
Warnings: None

When awakening, you'll find the area you're in to be very busy. The people in the medical ward are polite and understanding, but firmly refuse to answer questions until the briefing. The same goes for the robots in the hangars. Either given hospital outfits resembling very comfortable pajamas, drone bodies, or their own bodies, they are escorted by polite, unyielding people in red and black uniforms to the briefing room.

The room is large, but not quite large enough for some of the bigger Cybertronians. They've been given drone bodies at least, skinny little things with no real features beyond primitive masks made of paper plates. There's seats for everyone, at least, well-cushioned and comfortable, and the room is pleasantly lit.

A few Security personnel, dressed in their red and black uniforms, stand at ease in the rooms in strategic areas. Three men stand at the head. One is Graham Baker, a slightly nervous-seeming middle-aged man wearing a multi-layered business suit that seems rumpled and oversized. The other two men are dressed in military uniforms, one with the blue undershirt and piping of Command, while the other wears the gold of Science.

[Questions to the NPCs will go in the briefing thread. The rest of the post is there for people to mill about and do whatever with.]

Handing rifles to children probably isn't the smartest thing in the world, and if Chrono has finally found someone with a sense of responsibility, he may just expire from relief.

As it is he just offers her a smile, snapping off a mock salute. It's not the foremost of his skills, but playing crowd control for someone who is no doubt exhausted and disoriented is really the least he can do.

"You've got it. Do you have a destination in mind, or are you just trying to get out of..."

A wave at the throng of people, perhaps meant to encompass the chaos.

"This."

"Thanks so much."

She smiled back and hefted the launcher again. Sierra foxtrot, if only she could get her hands on one of those lighter models that Comstar used...that'd be best.

"A set of coordinates and an apartment number. It's better than nothing. First we've gotta get to the elevators."

She followed him, glancing down at him then up at the crowd. This wasn't all that much easier, since she both had to keep an eye on him and on her path. But she definitely couldn't let him get lost.

"So, you seen anyone you know here?"

He quirks a smile at the prompting and carves a careful path through the crowd. He's glad trial by fire has gotten him used to crowd control, and more glad still that he does know people here.

"We're in luck; I happen to know where both of those are." Cheerfully (politely) deflects a large man with blue skin and four arms, clearing a path for Cassie and her impressive pile for firearms. He wonders vaguely if they'll actually fit in the elevators, but that's a concern for later.

He glances over his shoulder when he's sufficiently safe from imminent collision, returning her watchfulness. There wouldn't be much point if he lost her.

"I was one of the ones they dragged in here a few weeks ago. They accidentally snagged a few people I know, and my partner... It makes things a lot easier, having people around that you know."

Hangs an abrupt left and pauses to make sure she follows, smile faltering some. It occurs to him that if she has a complete stranger helping her shuffle through the crowd, she's probably here alone.

It's a sobering thought.

"... Should I keep my eyes open for anyone?"

That way led them to the elevators, where she was glad to rest against the translucent wall and put her burden down. The doors closed around them with a chime.

"So you have someone to look after you, right?" She asked with a bit of concern.

Partner...The kid seemed way too young to be going into business with anyone. But on the streets of Larsha she'd seen kids forced to grow up way too fast, herself not excepted.

"You won't have to keep an eye out for my friends. They're pretty noticeable. If you see anyone hootin', hollerin' or strumming out corridos on a guitar, let me know." All the talent for stealth and discretion in the regiment was concentrated in her small person.
