0003: NEW ARRIVALS

When awakening, you'll find the area you're in to be very busy. The people in the medical ward are polite and understanding, but firmly refuse to answer questions until the briefing. The same goes for the robots in the hangars. Either given hospital outfits resembling very comfortable pajamas, drone bodies, or their own bodies, they are escorted by polite, unyielding people in red and black uniforms to the briefing room.

The room is large, but not quite large enough for some of the bigger Cybertronians. They've been given drone bodies at least, skinny little things with no real features beyond primitive masks made of paper plates. There's seats for everyone, at least, well-cushioned and comfortable, and the room is pleasantly lit.

A few Security personnel, dressed in their red and black uniforms, stand at ease in the rooms in strategic areas. Three men stand at the head. One is Graham Baker, a slightly nervous-seeming middle-aged man wearing a multi-layered business suit that seems rumpled and oversized. The other two men are dressed in military uniforms, one with the blue undershirt and piping of Command, while the other wears the gold of Science.

There's hints of longing behind the awe. He uses another small chunk of bread to shift the chunks of carrots and meat and potatoes around. Have you even looked at this?

"And this isn't fancy?"

"Ehhh? What do they feed you?" Instinct have clicked in as she eyes him critically. Young, hardly any meat on his bones, strange cunning smarts with weird wall shelves. Clearly another hard luck case.

She pushes the bread back towards him.

"Whatever Ashiya can find on sale? Spending enough for something like this would only happen if we were celebrating."

He takes another slice, fingers deftly tearing it into one bite-sized chunk after the next.

"Though even then they just bring back convenience-store takeout instead of something good."

"No WONDER you think wall tea is fine..."

"Replicated."

The correction is so natural you might almost think he deals with people holding views from fifty years in the past a lot.

"It's not like it's going to be much different from anything from a vending machine, right? And more convenient too."

Firmly, as he places a cup of real, actual tea in front of their visitor. Practically RADIATING disapproval.

"It's different enough. Why substitute if we have the real thing?"

"How does the real thing get ready to drink without you doing all that stuff to make it?"

'You' being Chrono, specifically, as his food-producing powers are probably just as convenient as a replicator when it comes right down to it.

Arches a single, eloquent eyebrow.

"... All I did was boil water."

Looks to Rosette, because clearly Chrono's judgement is off here.

"Is that really all?"

[soul_sister]

"There's some wizardry involved. For one, he always makes me leave the kitchen." Rosette nods solemnly. "It's very suspicious."

"That sounds more like it. No one would worry about ruining it if it was really that simple."

No that he would have ever been scolded for almost ruining tea or anything.
