[01 Σ Action]
Who: Kaname Chidori + Anyone
Where: Any Sports Center
When: Early Afternoon
Warnings: None, but you may want to check her permissions post? She can get "violent" during foul moods.
The loud crack of the bat filled the air as Kaname hit what would have been a home run if she were not hitting in a batting cage. Her proficiency in softball clearly showed. Time and time again she hit the ball nearly perfectly. However after hours of solo practice she began to falter. Kaname had come to blow off steam. Her questions and frustrations had been bothering her, and she still had to figure out how she was going to "contribute" to the ship. The most obvious answer was to enter their schooling system, but the descriptions of it were so different than what she was used to that she was wary. To take her mind off everything she practiced in the batting cage. This plan, however, backfired. With every hit of the ball she stewed over one point of irritation. Eventually the stress and some amount of dehydration got to her. Kaname hit a ball, with the tip of the bat, and the ball flew off to what would be a grievous foul. Pissed at her own failure she tosses the bat forward at the machine, cursing at it, because she wasn't going to blame herself for the screw up. Not in this mood. Automated systems began to scold her for improper treatment of the equipment, but she ignored the artificial voice and stomped out towards some vending machines.
She took off the helmet she wore in the cage, and stared at the selection of beverages. Sweat soaked her body, and she obviously looked worn. Kaname's eyes glazed over while trying to choose her drink. Mostly she was just tired physically, mentally, and emotionally. However to an onlooker she might just look like a complete jerk holding up the line at the vending machine. If no one called her out on it she eventually came to, and asked if anyone they have change because she didn't bring anything with her.
(Open to both prose and bracket style. Also feel free to catch her before she starts spacing out at the vending machine if your character may have been watching the batting practice.)

That was certainly a high pitched shriek and it was coming from a blue bird that was now flitting around Kaname. The bird's 'owner' stood back a ways, glaring. Not at Kaname but at the annoying bird herself. He had warned Chika a thousand times not to go crazy while they weren't in the Granzon because people could fight back. Whatever happened to Chika was her own fault.

"How's this for moving, jackass!?"

Being sent flying was also pretty painful. But after he shrugged off all of that and pulled himself back up, looking unphased despite the now swelling mark on his face.
"I do believe you aimed at the wrong target."

Both her hands were balled into fists, and it definitely looked like she had her second wind. Kaname's breathing was heavy since she was still exhausted, but she somehow found the energy to be angry. She stood in front of the vending machine with her legs spread shoulder width apart (a solid stance). The girl may not have looked terribly strong, or intimidating at five feet and for inches, but her intensity and ferocity did not suffer for it.

"You certainly could have, yes. But it's not recommended. Assault charges on this ship are probably taken seriously."

Kaname's eyebrows knit together, and her visage remained unpleasant. She opened her fists so that she may rest her hands on her hips. Her attire was more casual than his, but it was a no-brainer why it would be. A t-shirt, pants, and sneakers is what she wore. Not incredibly impressive, but practical. There wasn't anyone Kaname met on this ship worth impressing anyway. Hell, she counted herself lucky if she met someone with recognizable body parts.

Of course, the bird doesn't hesitate to open it's mouth.
"Haha, you hear that dumbas-'
And was shut off when Shu used his fingers to shut her beak. "Chika...you've gotten me into enough trouble already." That was that. Of course, talking to a bird in his no nonsense way was probably the more disturbing thing here.

"He's right. Shut it before you become stir fry."
Due to her state of dehydration she doesn't question that she's threatening a bird, which could very well be this man's pet. Though if she did have the right state of mind, she would probably rationalize that he should have trained his pet to have better manners.

It probably hurt less than fists but he wasn't going to bring that up. As far as he cared, he was going to pretend that didn't happen.
no subject
"You know you really should teach that thing some manners."

Thankfully, the tension was bleeding away so he released the bird's beak. Hopefully she wouldn't say anything and ruin it because he could finally get somewhere without having to worry about being physically maimed.

Kaname was already exhausted, and really did not have the energy for this. She kept her arms folded under her chest as she carefully leaned back on the vending machine. That should help conserve her energy until she has a chance to buy a drink.
no subject
Shu did make her, after all. The bird predictably puffed up in pride but it really was just a backhanded compliment.

Kaname started to laugh. Magic, aliens, and time/space travel? It was too much. She laughed halfhearted, with a subtle undertone of disbelief and denial. At this point she might as well be hallucinating, right? Magic! How ridiculous!

The problem was, there was a girl there already, carrying a helmet much like the goalguards in minchu wore. She was taking a long time to pick out what she wanted to drink. But he was far too polite to say it, so he just stood there, swaying on unsteady legs, smiling awkwardly, trying to think of a polite way to let her know that he was waiting. He couldn't even sit down: venous pooling would make things even worse.

Not like she had the energy to care anyway.

"If you're out of money for the machine I can lend you some..."
no subject
"Yeah?" she asked, and held out her hand. If he was offering she would definitely be taking. Kaname watched him with lazy, half-lidded eyes while waiting for him to give her the money.

He fished around in his pocket and dropped two credit markers in her palm.
"The one at the top's usually the best. Don't drink the one at the bottom. It's for species with very different metabolisms."
As in it was so sweet you could feel your teeth rotting and burned your palate like you'd just swallowed a ball of wasabi.
no subject
"Thanks."
no subject
He dug in his pocket for more credits and slowly raised his hand to about the level of the slot, hoping the gesture would get her to realize that he wanted to use the machine too. If this didn't work he might have to resort to (gasp!) asking her to move.

"Don't you dare, you piece of shit!" She hollered, kicking it again. The vending machine glitched, and after another blow it actually began to vend about three different beverages.

"...How did you do that?"
