EVENT: MINING COLONY V'VORTE
Who: Councilor Labismat, Science Captain Urist McEngineer, OPEN
Where: V’Vorte
When: June 4th-8th
Warnings: N/A
The Fleet stations itself near V’Varga, the more populated planet of the V’V system, but the majority of the ships are ferrying people down to V’Vorte. Mainly desert, the only things of interest on it seem to be the Mining Plains, which stretch for hundreds of miles; the Blue Circus, which lights up the nights with laser shows and fireworks; and the small town that supports the first two and serves as a small island of normality among the eccentric carnies and boisterous miners. There are rides to and from the Teuberg twice a day, in case you would rather not stay overnight, which are overseen by Science Captain McEngineer, who gives an energetic explanation of the types of metal needed when asked. Back on the Teuberg, Councilor Labismat can be found greeting the ships coming back in, checking on any progress being made.
The V’V natives are mostly humanoid in appearance, with reddened skin tones and large eyes that help them see in the dimmer light of their sun. Most of them, especially the miners, are quite friendly and seem unfazed by the variety of species the Fleet has brought to their doorstep. The only Transports who might get a second glance are the robotic ones, as the mining mechs vaguely resemble them.

With his mouth full, he couldn't say much until he 'dropped the bird' and placed a paw on it's torso to keep it there.
"But I'm hungry." He says this with an air of innocence, leaning down to grab the bird by the head in his mouth.
It wasn't like she could stop him.
no subject
"Then go get something to eat that's not a pet! There's gotta be a place to hunt! You can't just go and kill something in a zoo, we're just visiting, remember?"
She's putting the weapon down now. After all, she thought he might be a threat to people around.
no subject
"But I've already--Aaagnn!" He snarls as the bird grabs him by the lip and yanks, enough to make him lift his paw. The bird doesn't stop there. It decides to peck him in the face a few more times before flapping away back to it's flock.
"H-hey!" He shakes off the damage and runs a few yards back to the pen.
"Get back here!" Kind of ignoring Fionna at the moment.
Seeing the owner of the petting zoo coming around now, he decided it was probably better to find something else to eat.
"I... Um. I guess? Visiting..." He rambles and looks to Fionna helplessly.
"I don't know, I just got here, okay?"
no subject
"Sorry man, sorry! Just getting my friend some fresh air, he got too close to the pens, the birds got scared, you know! I'm gonna take him away now!"
She squatted over to the tiger. "See?! Why are you hunting a freaking bird, there's food all over the place here!"
no subject
He cringed and started inching from the pens, when Fionna moved infront of him.
"Alien food. It could be worms or alien spiders for all I know. Can't go wrong with a bird!"
no subject
"Then go hunt a bird in the wild, don't get one here! You think peeps wanna watch you chow down on a zoo bird out in the open? They'll go nuts!"
no subject
"I wasn't gonna do that though."
no subject
"Oh really? So what were you gonna do with the bird, huh? Get it a snowcone?"
no subject
Guess not.
no subject
Fionna sighed. "Anyway, at least we avoided that junk. The people on the ship might get all bent outta shape if there was a big deal."
She pulled her at off a moment, letting her hair breath a moment.
"You had me worried man? I haven't fought a wild cat in awhile! What;s your name?"
no subject
He straitens himself and looks at her, a look of amusement and curiosity suddenly on his face when she asks him that.
"It's Shadow-- You fight wild cats?"
no subject
Fionna knew she'd have done the same, if she ever had any. She shook her head, then wiped her brow and tucked the impossibly long hair back into the hat.
"Oh, cool! I met another person named Shadow already, maybe you two met? I fight a bunch of things, actually, not just cats! It was kinda my job back home."
no subject
"Another Shadow?" He pauses. "Oh. That figures. Shadow is like, the most common super hero name ever. Shadow Zepher, Shadow Spawn, Singing Shadow... Or just plain ole' Shadow." He snorts at that, an indigent chuckle. He acknowledged that his code name wasn't all that original but he was a kid when he came up with it.
"And I haven't met him. What's he like?" Actually Fionna, the fact that you fight monsters is no surprise to him. You dress eccentrically enough for the job!
no subject
Not that she'd bothered to think about it THEN. She was from Ooo, after all, and you just tended to let different creatures go about their ways.
"It is a pretty cool name."
no subject
"That's what I said. But everyone else used the name and so it was sorta cliche. Like, what if everyone had some variation of your name?"
no subject
She definitely didn't think he was evil though. He just had a vibe of being a "to himself" kind of guy.
"I dunno! No one's called Fionna where I'm from!"
no subject
And he supposed she was lucky, but then his real name was at least unique in spelling. He didn't know any Matthews with the same spelling as his.
"Where are you from? They musta took you from another world too, right?"
no subject
In more ways than one.
"Oh, I'm from Ooo! Well, technically, they took me from a world after I was already taken from mine to begin with! This is my second time in a strange new place. Still getting used to it all."
no subject
"Ooo?" That sounded fun.
"Is it weird that I'm not shocked by that? Cos' they got stuff like that where I'm from too. Like, you can go to a universe were werewolves took over the world."
no subject
She nodded. "Yup, Ooo! Full of candy people and swamp stuff and princess and vamps and everything! You'll never be bored!"
You might die too, but that's another story.
"Awesome! Though I think I've only met whywolves so far..."
no subject
"Where I come from there were spider people, vampires, werewolves, robot people, and super powered everything. Also? Santa Clause, the Tooth Fairy and the easter bunny. All real." Because he assumed she knew what those were.
"What's a whywolf?"
no subject
She nodded. "Yeah, we have all those things...well. except those weird guys you were mentioning. Who the heck are they?"
Fionna chuckled. "Uh, these weirdo wolves that crave blood and are super smart, with glasses and everything!"
no subject
"You---You really don't know who Santa is?" Okay. Gasp. He hears that about the whywolves and all, but his focus is firmly planted on her answer to his extremely important question.
no subject
"Dude, that's the thing. You can BE big and you can be ferocious, but a smart dude is always gonna find a way to take you down to their level. You never wanna be caught with your pants down, you know?"
She made a face. "No. What is he, some kinda big warrior in your world?"
no subject
"He might be. I've heard rumors but never actually saw him. He's big, and fat, and he has a sleigh pulled by eight flying reindeer. And once every year he brings presents to all the good kids. But he probably fights badguys too. Evil fairies and the Redcaps and stuff."
