EVENT: MINING COLONY V'VORTE
Who: Councilor Labismat, Science Captain Urist McEngineer, OPEN
Where: V’Vorte
When: June 4th-8th
Warnings: N/A
The Fleet stations itself near V’Varga, the more populated planet of the V’V system, but the majority of the ships are ferrying people down to V’Vorte. Mainly desert, the only things of interest on it seem to be the Mining Plains, which stretch for hundreds of miles; the Blue Circus, which lights up the nights with laser shows and fireworks; and the small town that supports the first two and serves as a small island of normality among the eccentric carnies and boisterous miners. There are rides to and from the Teuberg twice a day, in case you would rather not stay overnight, which are overseen by Science Captain McEngineer, who gives an energetic explanation of the types of metal needed when asked. Back on the Teuberg, Councilor Labismat can be found greeting the ships coming back in, checking on any progress being made.
The V’V natives are mostly humanoid in appearance, with reddened skin tones and large eyes that help them see in the dimmer light of their sun. Most of them, especially the miners, are quite friendly and seem unfazed by the variety of species the Fleet has brought to their doorstep. The only Transports who might get a second glance are the robotic ones, as the mining mechs vaguely resemble them.

ARRIVAL/DEPATURE
THE MINING PLAINS
The Plains are all rocky desert, sweltering during the day and quiet and cold at night. The mining mechs are essentially giant robot suits, and most of them are rather dinged up and scrappy-looking. The cockpits are slightly cramped and dark, but there are enough stabilizers and safety mechanisms to protect the pilot from most anything. They contain a huge variety of tools in their bulky arms, including grappling hooks for scaling steep surfaces, and connect to one another via radio.
There are several quarries being worked constantly, and each of them contains huge labyrinths of caves that seem to stretch on endlessly. Fortunately, the mechs come with built-in homing devices and alarm beacons for emergencies. Go deep enough, and you might be able to find where all the water on V’Vorte is concentrated. And yes, there might be terrifying scaly things living down there…but you should be safe so long as you don’t get out of your robot. Right?
OTA
Now that he was crammed in the cockpit, he was no longer sure about this situation. He felt cautious before in his own oversized body. In this clunky machine, he was afraid of what would happen if he hit something. He froze, terrified to move the thing. Perhaps he should wait until everyone else went ahead.

He noticed one of the armors was all frozen, and carefully reached his own out to prod it on the shoulder.
"Hey, you ok?"

Hopefully she's not, ya know, disrupting anything. If someone needs her they'll shout or comm or something, right?

He did not know what those scaly things were, but he saw one while he was gathering resources. Then he saw two, and soon there were suddenly a swarm of them and all of them were chasing him. Now that he was out of the labyrinth of tunnels, he was actually quite vulnerable. He was not used to running and he had nowhere to hide.

Which is what he was doing at that very moment. An immense cloud of dust followed him and he was barely visible. Not that anyone would be able to catch up with him if they were wondering who was being one irresponsible speedster, right?
open
But it was worth it for the exploration. And every operation needed a scout, particularly one who was small enough to fit through the tightest of caverns, where the metal giants could not hope to go. So she slung her sensor equipment around herself and wriggled through increasingly smaller tunnels, relishing the way fear made her heart beat faster, nostrils flare, eyes widen, taking in any scrap of light.
That was when she caught the out of place sound of...liquid trickling? Impossible.
THE BLUE CIRCUS
The circus is mostly an open-air affair, with a great many tents and awnings set up for the hottest parts of the day. A huge variety of lifeforms perform here, and an even larger variety are eaten. The food stalls will sell to anyone, even if their digestive systems aren’t prepared for it, but there is a sizable medical center set up at the front gates.
Elaborate laser shows are performed nightly, as well as incredible acts of contortionism and acrobatics. A magic act near the back includes teleporting the entire audience to the other side of the planet – briefly. The grounds also host multiple carousels (some with holographic effects), a tilt-a-whirl, two Ferris wheels (one made with solid-light platforms), small roller coasters, a drop-tower and, yes, a pirate ship ride.
For amusements that aren’t rides or shows, there’s the carnival games and the petting zoo. Games include both skill and chance, and prizes range from cheap holographic bracelets to huge robotic stuffed animals. The petting zoo has goats, shorses (don’t worry, they’re friendly), a living kilin that you can ride, these cute things (careful, they like to hide in pockets) and these ugly things (sharp, pet carefully), and zebra-striped flamingos.
interrupt him any time!
By himself, as per usual, he decided to browse the carnival, a part of him wishing Tobias was here as he passed the petting zoo (pausing a moment to stare at the shorses - he'd seen some strange creatures, but those were special). Actually, never mind Toby, he should have brought anyone with him. At least then he could show off at the skill games, right?
no subject
The strong smell coming from the zoo has him roaming around the skill games instead. They didn't seem so hard—oh? What is this?! Hah! The unmistakable —and now rather familiar— energy coming from Espio's Emerald... Because it wasn't enough feeling it's presence at times back at the Teuberg. Whatever! He wasn't going to stop going on the path he was headed to avoid one crazy chameleon.
And then he gets distracted by a shooting game, that seemed quite interesting.

Oh, wait, there was no need for daring stunts this time. The goats stopped themselves. Every muscle in their body froze and they fell over. What could have caused this?
Francœur looked aghast. They just saw him and ran; he did not mean to do any of this! Did he kill them? He started to feel sick. What should he do?

Re: interrupt him any time!
Fionna had apparently trotted to catch up with him, as she was out of breath but looking pretty happy with herself. The past few days at the bakery had actually gone better than expected: with the speed she'd had to learn at the academy, not to mention a of the studying, Fionna had captured the job pretty easily, and you could even see a bit of flour on the right side of her cheek.
"Whatcha up to, Espio?"

The game's attendant was also muttering direly under her breath, probably because while Axl had spent a good ten minutes fiddling, he hadn't actually attempted to shoot any of the targets yet. Well, he wanted to win that ridiculously big stuffed angler fish, okay?

"Namur would love the shorses, eh." To eat them, that is.
But yeah, he's thinking of Toby too, of course, and now about to say it. Especially since Marco still considers it his fault that they aren't with Toby right now.

OTA
Things got shot. Lots of things. So now he's got a bunch of stuffed animals (what is with them and big creepy eyes?) and bracelets and trinkets that he's won. Great.
((OOC: things you can do with your Deadlock: make fun of him, ask for some of his stupid prizes (feel free to make up something weird!), challenge him to more games, drag him to the petting zoo, you name it!))
It's true love...of the 6th grade variety.
And for a second she's not sure what that fuzzy rainbow monstrosity is coming towards her. Except it's apparently got Deadlock's legs. So either he's been consumed by a mutant plush monster or....yeah, no, she has no idea what that's about.
But hey, lack of knowledge never stopped ridicule!
"Make way!" she shouts, "Forklift of prizes coming through!" If she was really feeling terrible, she'd make that obnoxious back-up beep noise too.

So he was moving around the petting zoo pen, watching that little flock of Flamingos. One of the workers were now keeping an eye on him, but lost him around a corner.
A loud squawk could be heard a moment later, and feathers went flying as the flock scrambled. Shadow was suddenly in the middle of the petting zoo with his jaws around the torso of one of the flamingos. And with that, he ran, nearly avoiding one of those prickly porcupine things as he went over the fence to flee the scene of the crime.

Francœur chirped, which the man took as a yes. He placed the mallet in the flea's hands and pushed him to the high striker. It took him a moment, but he finally understood what it was for. He did not think this was a good idea; he had no desire to test his strength. Quickly, he looked around for anyone else. If they were close enough, he held the mallet out for them. Perhaps they would be interested in the game.

She holds it up by its green tail, looking at it with disdain, before shrugging and deciding to call it Shadow. She looks around for a new game to try, holding the stuffed toy underneath one arm.
B: The zebra-striped flamingoes are what really catch her attention! Grell has some feed for the birds, and a couple come over to eat from her hand, but then more and more do so and they start to crowd around her. Of course Grell tries to shoo them away but they really don't get the message, so she starts to walk away.
Naturally, they follow, and a chase ensues! A little help, please?

Now where do you think Fionna is going? Pirate ship of course!
For a moment. A little while later, the "pirate" had been made to "walk the plank" (spash around the water) and Fionna now wore the pirate hat, leading the others on the ship singing pirate songs her adopted family had taught her, steering the ship with relative ease!
Pirate ship oh boy~!

So now that he was free to enjoy it, he actually found himself gravitating towards the food first and foremost. Perhaps it was his current part-time job or perhaps the seed had been planted back when Samson had served him his native planet's 'special dish', but a gourmand tendency had been awoken in him. So he'd bravely bought a street dish of something with too many legs, which came with a little cup of a piquant sauce and was currently holding it up and staring at it, wondering which parts you were supposed to eat.
