EVENT: MINING COLONY V'VORTE
Who: Councilor Labismat, Science Captain Urist McEngineer, OPEN
Where: V’Vorte
When: June 4th-8th
Warnings: N/A
The Fleet stations itself near V’Varga, the more populated planet of the V’V system, but the majority of the ships are ferrying people down to V’Vorte. Mainly desert, the only things of interest on it seem to be the Mining Plains, which stretch for hundreds of miles; the Blue Circus, which lights up the nights with laser shows and fireworks; and the small town that supports the first two and serves as a small island of normality among the eccentric carnies and boisterous miners. There are rides to and from the Teuberg twice a day, in case you would rather not stay overnight, which are overseen by Science Captain McEngineer, who gives an energetic explanation of the types of metal needed when asked. Back on the Teuberg, Councilor Labismat can be found greeting the ships coming back in, checking on any progress being made.
The V’V natives are mostly humanoid in appearance, with reddened skin tones and large eyes that help them see in the dimmer light of their sun. Most of them, especially the miners, are quite friendly and seem unfazed by the variety of species the Fleet has brought to their doorstep. The only Transports who might get a second glance are the robotic ones, as the mining mechs vaguely resemble them.

Next time, I'll stick my head in its mouth first for you. Square?

But in all seriousness you two really ought to ride that thing before the circus packs up and ships out. Scrapbook photos and all that nonsense.

[Honestly. He catches his fingers back at her sleeve again, nods to Nate and tips his head farther up the avenue of rickety rides and stands. While they're all here--]
Come on; pretty sure they've a few games we can blow out of the water between the three of us.

[Nate winks and nudges Chloe in the shoulder like a small dog seeking forgiveness before turning to Charlie.]
You know, come to think of it, I've never actually been through one of these things before -- not properly, anyway.
no subject
That's because you've no sense of adventure, you stick in the mud. [Pot meet kettle. Charlie patiently loops his arm in Chloe's. He'd probably do the same to Nate if she weren't between them.]
Come along then, darlings.
no subject
It's no Amazon.
The jungle, not the-- whatever.] You mean games I can blow out of the water.
no subject
Careful, there could be children here Chloe.
no subject
Anything but that.
[He purposefully jostles Chloe's shoulder with his own, patting her forearm as he steers them through the midway. At three-wide, they make for a bit of an obstacle but most of the natives and visitors seem happy to dart out of their path when the going narrows. Eventually he draws up, angle of his chin lifting - clearly he's seen something of interest over the heads of the people ahead of them.]
Ah, there we are.
[And he drags the pair of them - Chloe by the arm, Nate by ay of Chloe - toward what is clearly some kind of marksmanship booth.]
no subject
Shoving them both forward a beat later with a sly, crooked sort of grin.]
Ladies first, then.
no subject
Funny. You come up with that one all by yourself?
[Still, Nate doesn't focus on the jab long. He's too busy squinting at the booth and makeshift novelty guns.]

[Charlie slides his arm free from Chloe's, awarding her with a sensible pat on the bum before he bypasses the pair of them to lead the charge on the booth. The bloke running the thing barely gets his mouth open to start running his spiel before Charlie's transferring credits to him, cheerfully accepting the short play firearm and fitting it neatly against his shoulder.]
Dunno, this thing seems a bit dangerous. [He turns slightly on his heel, shoots them both a keen look and a raised eyebrow before he leans in and steadies the gun. Once the game starts up, all holo targets and blinking lights, a bright obnoxious timer over it all, he somewhat predictably manages to - ping, ping, ping - nail the targets in succession.
Say what you like about Charlie Cutter, but he's a fair shot at the worst of times. Two drinks in, stomach slightly unsettled from the combination of booze and funnel cake, -- it could definitely be worse.]
