EVENT: MINING COLONY V'VORTE

Who: Councilor Labismat, Science Captain Urist McEngineer, OPEN
Where: V’Vorte
When: June 4th-8th
Warnings: N/A

The Fleet stations itself near V’Varga, the more populated planet of the V’V system, but the majority of the ships are ferrying people down to V’Vorte. Mainly desert, the only things of interest on it seem to be the Mining Plains, which stretch for hundreds of miles; the Blue Circus, which lights up the nights with laser shows and fireworks; and the small town that supports the first two and serves as a small island of normality among the eccentric carnies and boisterous miners. There are rides to and from the Teuberg twice a day, in case you would rather not stay overnight, which are overseen by Science Captain McEngineer, who gives an energetic explanation of the types of metal needed when asked. Back on the Teuberg, Councilor Labismat can be found greeting the ships coming back in, checking on any progress being made.

The V’V natives are mostly humanoid in appearance, with reddened skin tones and large eyes that help them see in the dimmer light of their sun. Most of them, especially the miners, are quite friendly and seem unfazed by the variety of species the Fleet has brought to their doorstep. The only Transports who might get a second glance are the robotic ones, as the mining mechs vaguely resemble them.

For... real...? Shadow doesn't take any step, forward or backwards, but he does fold his arms upon his fluffy chest, giving the lion a judgmental stare.

"This is not quite a buffet, or haven't you noticed." No one else was eating the animals! Though, he did have a point, Shadow wasn't about to taste any of the things that he had been offered so far, they looked rather disgusting.

"It's the only thing that looked good." Humf. He leers right back at this little black creature, irritated rumblings emitted from deep in his throat.

"I don't like fake meat." It was probably obvious now, that the lion wasn't exactly mature, nor full grown either. It's even more obvious that that he's upset over the meal, and the fact that the homing attack bloody hurt!

Unfortunately Shadow isn't known for showing sympathy when others are being a pain.

"You're not very smart, are you?"

"Neither are you, making assumptions like that." He huffs at him, eyes trailing to the ground to see where the light is falling.

"Why don't you tell me what you'd do? If you didn't think you could eat anything else?" 'you egotistical smart ass' goes unsaid.

"Assumptions? Hah, I am merely stating a fact. Besides, I cannot respond to that. I don't have such primal needs." Yep, he doesn't. "However, I wasn't referring to that either." Who was assuming about the assumptions...? Or something like that. "If I were to steal something, I wouldn't get caught."

"You said I wasn't very smart, and you didn't specify when, so you are assuming I'm dumb all the time. Maybe I was careless. So what? If you weren't here, I woulda gotten away so it wouldn't matter if I got caught."

From that, Shadow figured this spiky thing was going to take him to task for this, or something like that.

But if nothing else, it gave him an opportunity to show him up and get away relatively unscathed.

"But I can still get away right now, no matter how fast you are." He was standing now in the shadow of the stand. Perfect.

"Aren't you? Excuse me if I find that hard to believe."

Shadow, however, doesn't look like he's about to move a muscle to avoid the lion from leaving.

"I have no intentions of wasting my time on someone as pathetic as you. By all means, disappear from my sight if that's your wish. Or... stay, and I could show you how it is done."

... Wait, what?

"I bet you use the word pathetic a lot. That means you're projecting your own traits onto others!" He said with a short mocking laugh before literally dropping into the ground as if there were a hole there, disappearing from sight.

What a brat.

Oh! Well, that was different... Shadow is definitely taken by surprise, but above that, he's not sure if he should keep his defenses up at some impending (and uncalled for) attack of some sort.

But after a moment of nothing happening, he decides to drop it. It doesn't mean, however, that all his attention isn't in his proximity. The lion's smell lingers somehow... but Shadow cannot tell if it's only because of having been so close to it, or simply because of the thickness of the atmosphere.

Hmm... whatever. He skates away from there, the zoo's smell is getting to him.

At that point, he was about a block away ontop of another booth licking his wounds, along with general grooming. He was getting that sense that he actually did do something wrong there, both with the encounter and with taking the bird without at least asking first.

That's when he noticed the hedgehog skating past, fast yes, but not faster than he thought he could move.

Still reeling a bit from the encounter, he thought he might at least try to see what this guy could do.

He was on his feet, running and jumping along the tops of the booths in an effort to keep up. He was trailing by twenty feet, but once he actually jumped to the ground and started running all out, he was starting to catch up.
