0003: NEW ARRIVALS

Who: New Arrivals, Captain Jack Hollis, Science Captain Urist McEngineer, Graham Baker
Where: Briefing Room
When: Late afternoon
Warnings: None

When awakening, you'll find the area you're in to be very busy. The people in the medical ward are polite and understanding, but firmly refuse to answer questions until the briefing. The same goes for the robots in the hangars. Either given hospital outfits resembling very comfortable pajamas, drone bodies, or their own bodies, they are escorted by polite, unyielding people in red and black uniforms to the briefing room.

The room is large, but not quite large enough for some of the bigger Cybertronians. They've been given drone bodies at least, skinny little things with no real features beyond primitive masks made of paper plates. There's seats for everyone, at least, well-cushioned and comfortable, and the room is pleasantly lit.

A few Security personnel, dressed in their red and black uniforms, stand at ease in the rooms in strategic areas. Three men stand at the head. One is Graham Baker, a slightly nervous-seeming middle-aged man wearing a multi-layered business suit that seems rumpled and oversized. The other two men are dressed in military uniforms, one with the blue undershirt and piping of Command, while the other wears the gold of Science.

[Questions to the NPCs will go in the briefing thread. The rest of the post is there for people to mill about and do whatever with.]

Lina blinks a few times, then visibly deflates a bit. "...well, the only guys I knew of that were capable of breaking dimensional barriers over their knee were followers of Vorfeed. Was wonderin' if I'd somehow wound up in their world," she answers, then mutters under her breath "Then again, they knew what they were doing".
dragonspooker: (Slightly smug.)

There's a raised eyebrow for all of a second before Lina's face shifts to a cocky smirk while she folds her arms. "I doubt that - if they'd been yanking me around, they probably wanted my help again to bail their butts outta some kinda big trouble. Either way, I'm not there, I'm here. So..."

Hm. What to ask now...

"...how's the food here?"
dragonspooker: (...this is unfit for the eyes of man.)

Thankfully, Lina does not know what an airlock is, otherwise she would be taking a lot more offense than she is. For now, however, she's merely amused and smug, thanks to Captain Hollis' answer.

However, his other answer leaves her wanting. "...'usually'. Well. It's good that there's other options, then, 'cause these fabricator things don't sound that great." How she's gonna pay for her voracious appetite, however, has not crossed her mind just yet.

There's a dismissive hand motion. "Yeah, but why waste time with a knockoff when I can go find the genuine article somewhere else? Flavor's just as important as nutrition when it comes to food!"
dragonspooker: (Seriously...?)

"Yeah, about that..." Lina folds her arms, looking a bit more serious. "I'm guessing that if you've got a military, you likely don't have bandit or pirate problems, do you? The closest thing I had to a job at home was taking care of bandit camps and pirate ships, so I'm not sure how that's gonna gonna be useful here."
dragonspooker: (Grin)

At that, Lina quite visibly perks up with a grin. "Well, there's me a niche, then! Though, uh. I guess doing it mercenary style wouldn't really be useful given the situation here, would it? Who do I need to throw in with?"
