0003: NEW ARRIVALS

Who: New Arrivals, Captain Jack Hollis, Science Captain Urist McEngineer, Graham Baker
Where: Briefing Room
When: Late afternoon
Warnings: None

When awakening, you'll find the area you're in to be very busy. The people in the medical ward are polite and understanding, but firmly refuse to answer questions until the briefing. The same goes for the robots in the hangars. Either given hospital outfits resembling very comfortable pajamas, drone bodies, or their own bodies, they are escorted by polite, unyielding people in red and black uniforms to the briefing room.

The room is large, but not quite large enough for some of the bigger Cybertronians. They've been given drone bodies at least, skinny little things with no real features beyond primitive masks made of paper plates. There's seats for everyone, at least, well-cushioned and comfortable, and the room is pleasantly lit.

A few Security personnel, dressed in their red and black uniforms, stand at ease in the rooms in strategic areas. Three men stand at the head. One is Graham Baker, a slightly nervous-seeming middle-aged man wearing a multi-layered business suit that seems rumpled and oversized. The other two men are dressed in military uniforms, one with the blue undershirt and piping of Command, while the other wears the gold of Science.

[Questions to the NPCs will go in the briefing thread. The rest of the post is there for people to mill about and do whatever with.]

She beamed a smile at him and carefully unslung the launcher from her shoulder.

"Oh, a gentleman. Can you take this one? Thank you so much."

If he takes it, he'll find it's a testament to the physical condition she's in that she managed to get this far with it.

Tron shrugged and took the strap for the launcher. It was definitely heavy, like slinging another program over his shoulder, but doable. Well.. maybe she would be interested in sparring later, if she had any skill with hand-to-hand?

"Where are we going?"

If he asked, she'd be glad to, though he'd have to beware her tendency to get over competitive.

"This way." She gestured with her free hand over towards the transport tubes. "Can't believe they're letting me stash all this stuff in my place." She figured there'd be no harm in it getting out that her place was filled with weapons. "So, got a name?"

"Either they are very firm believers in personal property.. or they have better," Tron said, shrugging a little.

"I am Tron. You are?"

"In my experience it's always the latter." Some of her fellow Caballeros might have disagreed, with some platitude about the sacred right of arms. But she was a firm believer that power came out of the barrel of needler, not by giving one to everyone else. "Call me Cassie. So, what were you doing when you got dropped in here?"

The tube closed its transparent doors around them.

Tron hummed, watching the tube's movement for a little while as he tried to compose an answer. An answer that worked for a User frame of reference, anyway.

"Sinking," he finally said.

She cocked her head, carefully avoiding letting the SRM launcher fall off her shoulder. The city whizzed by beneath them.

"In quicksand?"

"The Sea. There was a crash."

The barest details would have to suffice. Tron wasn't sure he really wanted to try and go into it, especially since most Users never had any idea what he was talking about. It would probably take hours, and the memories involved weren't pleasant.
