0003: NEW ARRIVALS

Who: New Arrivals, Captain Jack Hollis, Science Captain Urist McEngineer, Graham Baker
Where: Briefing Room
When: Late afternoon
Warnings: None

When awakening, you'll find the area you're in to be very busy. The people in the medical ward are polite and understanding, but firmly refuse to answer questions until the briefing. The same goes for the robots in the hangars. Either given hospital outfits resembling very comfortable pajamas, drone bodies, or their own bodies, they are escorted by polite, unyielding people in red and black uniforms to the briefing room.

The room is large, but not quite large enough for some of the bigger Cybertronians. They've been given drone bodies at least, skinny little things with no real features beyond primitive masks made of paper plates. There's seats for everyone, at least, well-cushioned and comfortable, and the room is pleasantly lit.

A few Security personnel, dressed in their red and black uniforms, stand at ease in the rooms in strategic areas. Three men stand at the head. One is Graham Baker, a slightly nervous-seeming middle-aged man wearing a multi-layered business suit that seems rumpled and oversized. The other two men are dressed in military uniforms, one with the blue undershirt and piping of Command, while the other wears the gold of Science.

[Questions to the NPCs will go in the briefing thread. The rest of the post is there for people to mill about and do whatever with.]

He was only growing more frustrated the farther he walked. He opened his mouth to speak before turning around, expecting just another weirdo space guy to start spitting even more strange, meaningless words at him. Did they have space dictionaries here? He was probably going to need one.

"Does it look like I know where I'm—"

Oh. Having actually turned to face the other man, he could see this was clearly not one of the locals, either. Hardly a comfort, but he might have dropped the attitude a little had his attention not been immediately stolen by the enormous... thing this guy was carrying around with him.

"What in the hell is that?"

Zouichi considered the possibility that this might be a rhetorical question; it was difficult to tell with all these people who was from roughly which historical era. He concluded that it would be better to be safe than sorry, and set the bike back down on the ground.

"It's my motorcycle. Probably not the only one here, but mine's a custom model."

Custom as in top speeds of around 1,000 km/h custom. He was totally going to obey the traffic laws.

He took a few steps toward and around the strange machine, being completely unused to most technology in general. Even though it'd been one crazy, impossible thing after another so far, this thing was worth another look.

"Something you ride?" He was a little torn between curiosity and not wanting to look like an idiot, but curiosity won. With as often as people were going to ask about the gear he wore, he figured he ought to be able to ask a few of his own.

"Only if you want to get around in style," said Zouichi, patting his bike with an expression that was somewhere between affection and looking very forward to hitting the Teuberg's travel lanes very, very fast.

"Cars are more practical if you have people with you, but I'd rather have the extra freedom of movement. Besides, they designed this model with some extras built in."
