0003: NEW ARRIVALS
Who: New Arrivals, Captain Jack Hollis, Science Captain Urist McEngineer, Graham Baker
Where: Briefing Room
When: Late afternoon
Warnings: None
When awakening, you'll find the area you're in to be very busy. The people in the medical ward are polite and understanding, but firmly refuse to answer questions until the briefing. The same goes for the robots in the hangars. Either given hospital outfits resembling very comfortable pajamas, drone bodies, or their own bodies, they are escorted by polite, unyielding people in red and black uniforms to the briefing room.
The room is large, but not quite large enough for some of the bigger Cybertronians. They've been given drone bodies at least, skinny little things with no real features beyond primitive masks made of paper plates. There's seats for everyone, at least, well-cushioned and comfortable, and the room is pleasantly lit.
A few Security personnel, dressed in their red and black uniforms, stand at ease in the rooms in strategic areas. Three men stand at the head. One is Graham Baker, a slightly nervous-seeming middle-aged man wearing a multi-layered business suit that seems rumpled and oversized. The other two men are dressed in military uniforms, one with the blue undershirt and piping of Command, while the other wears the gold of Science.
[Questions to the NPCs will go in the briefing thread. The rest of the post is there for people to mill about and do whatever with.]

[ Not that he has another explanation for the flashy show, but he still sounds incredulous. She couldn't have been serious about that, could she? ]
Really?
no subject
[Lina makes a perplexed face, then sighs, mentally lumping him with the various outer-world folks she'd encountered during some of her later travels that lived where magic was pretty uncommon.]
Guess you really meant it when you said you hadn't seen a sorceress.
[A few hand motions are made, and Lina begins to glow with a dim, golden light as she invokes a word--] Levitation! [--and in short order, she's hovering a few feet off the ground, with no apparent physical assistance.]
no subject
[ 'Make up a load of crap' is what he would say, except Lina begins to motion and that's when things get weird again; she glows, floats up (he saw nothing pull her upwards, and there wasn't much surrounding them to latch on to, either), and... stays there. ]
... Wha— [ Eren steps closer, as if that'll give him a better view of what the heck she just did. It doesn't, and he doesn't look any less baffled than before. ] You're kidding.
no subject
...though if you're still not convinced, I'm afraid I'm a bit strapped for more demonstrations since most of my repertoire is combat spells, and I don't think our hosts would appreciate me throwing fireballs in their nice ship.
[At this point, Lina takes a sitting pose in mid-air while looking a bit thoughtful - trying to think of something else, just in case.]
no subject
[ It's more mind-boggling when she crosses her legs mid air, like there was something to sit on. Good grief, nothing was normal here.
Normal by his own understandings of the world, anyway—something Eren was beginning to realize wasn't much compared to others here. So, he furrows his brows, shifting in place in a mildly conflicted manner. ]
I didn't think that stuff would be... real.
no subject
[Lina grins, then drops down to her feet once more, then holds out a hand for a handshake.]
Name's Lina, Lina Inverse!
no subject
[ Enough that he still wasn't sure he really understood the concept of 'inter-dimensional travel'.
Nonetheless, Eren takes a moment to size her up. She was dressed pretty strangely and could apparently pull off even stranger things (not that it wasn't neat in its own way, if he had to admit it), but all in all, she seemed harmless enough. So, after regarding her hand for only the briefest of moments, he also reaches out to give it a firm grip. ]
It's Eren Yeager.
