EVENT: MINING COLONY V'VORTE
Who: Councilor Labismat, Science Captain Urist McEngineer, OPEN
Where: V’Vorte
When: June 4th-8th
Warnings: N/A
The Fleet stations itself near V’Varga, the more populated planet of the V’V system, but the majority of the ships are ferrying people down to V’Vorte. Mainly desert, the only things of interest on it seem to be the Mining Plains, which stretch for hundreds of miles; the Blue Circus, which lights up the nights with laser shows and fireworks; and the small town that supports the first two and serves as a small island of normality among the eccentric carnies and boisterous miners. There are rides to and from the Teuberg twice a day, in case you would rather not stay overnight, which are overseen by Science Captain McEngineer, who gives an energetic explanation of the types of metal needed when asked. Back on the Teuberg, Councilor Labismat can be found greeting the ships coming back in, checking on any progress being made.
The V’V natives are mostly humanoid in appearance, with reddened skin tones and large eyes that help them see in the dimmer light of their sun. Most of them, especially the miners, are quite friendly and seem unfazed by the variety of species the Fleet has brought to their doorstep. The only Transports who might get a second glance are the robotic ones, as the mining mechs vaguely resemble them.

sorry i'm awfully late
But then he's offered the mallet. Which he didn't take, as he gave the other an inquisitive stare.
"... What's the matter, you don't feel capable?"
It was only a game, Frank. But Shadow wasn't about to say he was curious about how strong this one was.
Never be sorry, I'm always open to backtags
Francœur glanced at the bright lights flashing in dazzling designs over the simple game. When he looked at Shadow, he only chirped. There was no need to write what he was chirping, the meaning was clear from his expression. He was asking for Shadow's guidance. Whether he would play or not hinged on his answer.

"I believe you need to hit the base with the mallet as hard as you can." To which the game's owner agreed.
"I'll go after you, if you wish."

There was a bell up there. It must make a nice sound if he could hit it. If it were up to Francœur, he would have rather just played with the bell and skipped the strength test. He looked at the mallet in his hands. If he were supposed to hit as hard as he could, then he should not be using the mallet. Perhaps humans were stronger in their arms than their legs, but not fleas. He walked closer, until he was standing beside the base. He licked his lips, hesitating briefly, before he stomped on the lever.
The puck soared up and the lights struggled to keep up with it. When it struck, the bell warbled, as if singing its last as the metal body bent under the impact. Francœur uttered a high-pitched rasp. He damaged the bell! Oh, now it would never sound the same.

At first Shadow jaw drops a little at the strength he's just witnessed. Francœur did definitely not seem that strong, less with that nervous way of his, but then the hedgehog looks a tad diverted, regaining his composure and smirking at the whole scene.
"And that's why you should have used the mallet."
It's not the end of the world, Francœur. At least he wins the first prize! Which the man, after going through a comical transition from deathly-pale-surprised to tomato-red-angry, gave before politely (not really, no), shooing them away. C'mon big guy, what did you even get?

Francœur would have preferred the bell, even if it was broken. Instead, he got a large toy monkey that was about the same size as Shadow. Despite its size, it looked just right for someone as large as he was. Put a hat and some clothes on the toy and it could vaguely pass for Charles, he presumed. He ran his gloved hand over the white fur and squeezed the soft toy. Though it was only a toy, he gently treated it as if it were a precious treasure.
He held the toy out to Shadow. From the guilty look on his face, he was offering him the toy as a way to express his regret for getting Shadow in trouble and ruining the game for him.

"You earned it, keep it." What would he even do with it?

Francœur seemed to want to follow Shadow now. It was rather lonely being alone here and he knew nothing about the games. He chirped while he looked around, questioning in his own way about where Shadow was going to go next.
